Artist Statement
The emotional tone blends the contrasting feelings of pride (represented in the upper rows) and shame (in the lower rows), using a palette of striking electric blue, passionate magenta, grounding black, and vivid lime. The palette juxtaposes bright and dark hues, enhancing emotional tension while creating a visual echo. The top half pulsates with patterns resembling a maze representing pride—intricate yet structured—contrasted by the bottom half’s disjointed crosshatch pattern evoking shame’s chaotic nature. A pattern of broken pixels introduces imperfection, creating tension and interruption, while maintaining negative space to emphasize a whisper of unresolved feelings. This arrangement reflects the tension and release indicated in the seed, bringing forth an abstract narrative that speaks to the collisions of emotions distinctly and poignantly.
