Artist Statement
The emotional tone expresses a conflict between tenderness and rage, using a palette of deep blacks and soft blues that embody calm against a backdrop of sharp reds, creating a push and pull of intensity. The collision occurs in the center, where sharp edges break through the softness, symbolizing the interruption - a 'last light' breaking through dark noise. The pattern of jagged reds against textured blues positions tenderness against rage, while a sparse arrangement guarantees sufficient negative space which softens the tension.
