Artist Statement
The emotional tone centers on the tension between trust and suspicion. The chosen colors, from the 'quiet_pressure' palette, create a canvas of dark navy and faint peach, where suspicion is characterized by dark shades and stripes in the top half, while trust is depicted with warmer, broken frame patterns in the lower half. The collision occurs at the central division, creating a visual barrier contrasting the two emotions. The incorporation of broken pixels introduces imperfection as a metaphor for resilience and fragility, mirroring the complexities of these emotions. The layout nearly splits the square into horizontal halves, establishing a stark dichotomy yet enhanced by subtle textures that invite reflection on the delicate balance between the two states.
