Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional collision between vulnerability and strength. The contrasting palette incorporates deep greens and warm golds, representing vitality and desire, while the pale cream serves as an unshielded light, hinting at vulnerability. The diagonal layout sees lush, darker greens filling one wedge, imbuing a sense of rooted strength, while the lighter cream and honey tones assert themselves as an ephemeral edge that bleeds into the main body. The broken pixels introduce unpredictable disruptions, simulating the tension present in moments of vulnerability, suggesting a pleading cry amidst strength. The piece strikes a balance by allowing negative space to breathe amidst the dense color arrangement, embodying the conflict and interdependence of these emotional states.
