Artist Statement
The emotional tone encapsulates a clash between desire and emptiness, reflecting the pressure and quiet rhythm of challenging feelings. The selected palette—black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green—symbolizes the interplay between fear and hope. The contrast between dark and light is emphasized with sharp vs. soft transitions, where dark colors create a shadowed density, interrupted by glowing accents of gold. The design incorporates patterns of target and crosshatch, suggesting an intensity of unfulfilled longing against a backdrop of solitude. The broken pixels introduce imperfection, embodying the rawness of emotional experiences amidst the structured layout of mostly negative space, evoking a sense of balance disturbed by sudden outbursts of color.
