Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional dichotomy of vulnerability and strength, represented by a soft center surrounded by hard edges. The mixing of gray tones reflects uncertainty while the pink and dark maroon provide dynamic contrasts, symbolizing tension between exposure and shelter. The composition is split horizontally; top rows evoke vulnerability with delicate patterns and pale shades, while the bottom rows showcase strength through denser, richer colors and more structured patterns. This layout enhances the narrative of protection versus exposure, giving a clear collision between the two emotional states. Central interference is softly dominant, subtly bleeding into neighboring areas, embodying the theme of connection and alienation.
