Artist Statement

This piece explores the emotional dichotomy of love and betrayal through contrasting colors and placements. The palette of warm pinks and reds represents love, while dark maroon and gray symbolize betrayal. The warm colors are interspersed with cooler, muted tones, creating a visual tension that echoes themes of security versus vulnerability. The open negative space reflects the loneliness implied in 'inside_vs_outside,' while the disorganized pixel arrangements disrupt the flow, suggesting the unpredictability of emotional experiences. Broken pixels interrupt the form, embodying the imperfections in relationships, and the layout mimics falling rain to convey a sense of movement from top to bottom, resembling tears or the weight of unspoken feelings.
