Artist Statement
The artwork explores the emotional tension between vulnerability and strength, using a palette that juxtaposes deep navy against stark whites and soft dim cyans. The cool navy represents stability and strength, while the whites and cyans evoke feelings of exposure and delicateness. Main contrasts occur through jagged stripes of cool colors clashing against warm patches, creating a push-pull dynamic. The placement is dominated by dark colors, creating a sense of anchored strength, while lighter shades intermittently breach, resembling openings or 'breaks' within a controlled structure. This is reflected in the piece's composition, which mirrors the idea of a center that teeters between being exposed and sheltered.
