Artist Statement
This abstract piece explores the emotional duality of longing and resolve through a careful arrangement of colors and patterns. The palette consists of muted tones, primarily utilizing compressed red for intensity, contrasted with soft off-white and faint peach that evoke a sense of quiet pressure and intimacy. The main collision occurs through the crosshatching of darker shades of navy and transitions into moments of empty, quiet space in the upper rows, representing the layering emotional strata that reflect the struggle of ascent. The broken pixel placements create deliberate imperfections, enhancing the sense of unresolved tension. The overall structure suggests an upward movement, like a ladder against a fault line, while maintaining an echo of distant resolutions.
