Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects an interplay of defiance and submission, as represented by the palette choices of pinks and grays against dark maroon. The central hole, representing vulnerability, is encircled by a dense yet soothing contrast of color, creating a rhythmic pressure that radiates outward. The use of muted tones versus the bright pink creates an interruption that captures the emotional collisions suggested in the seed, drawing attention to the center while giving a sense of swirling motion. Broken pixels were carefully integrated to emphasize imperfection and the unpredictability of emotions, ensuring that at least 10% of the design remains negative space to enhance the overall composition.
