Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional interplay between defiance and submission through color and structure. The palette, inspired by 'guilt_forgiveness', combines warm and cool tones—deep wine and warm ivory against ash gray and soft gold—to suggest a conflict between surrender and resistance. The main collision occurs centrally where angular structures (representing defiance) intersect with softer, sprawling patterns (representing submission), reflecting a chaotic yet organized tension. Broken pixels enhance the feeling of disruption amidst order, creating moments for quiet reflection within the chaos. The layout emphasizes a cross-current, intensifying the emotional push and pull that defines the piece, while maintaining negative space to resonate the quiet amidst conflict.
