Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the tension between restlessness and peace, where the pattern of dots (representing restlessness) interacts dynamically with the stair-like forms (representing peace). The palette, drawn from shades of guilt and forgiveness, features soft gold and warm ivory to symbolize tranquility, while deeper tones like deep wine signify the restless undercurrent. The central collision of colors occurs diagonally, where the restless dots emerge against the calm, flowing stair structure—a visual metaphor for the conflict between memory and motion, accentuated by the broken pixels that add an element of imperfection and disruption. The composition pushes towards outer edges, reflecting the wear of time upon our peaceful moments, leaving negative space to allow for contemplation.
