Artist Statement
This composition embodies the struggle between loneliness and connection through contrasting patterns and colors. The palette of navy, black, and dim cyan evokes a sense of melancholy and weight, while the absence of colors suggests silence and emptiness. The zigzag flow represents the conflict between the desire for connection, embodied in brighter 'flame' patterns, and the deep yearning for presence seen in the checker pattern of broken pixels. The edges follow a thin outline to subtly confine the chaos, suggesting the fragility of connections amidst solitude.
