Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional tension between envy and gratitude, using a palette of warm yellows and deep blue to suggest conflict. The contrast of light (muted yellows) against dark (deeper purples and blues) creates a dynamic rhythm, akin to a rising tension echoing downwards. The soft edges of the colors enhance the feeling of unresolved emotions, while the intentional placement of broken pixels introduces a feeling of disruption, embodying the 'tear' mentioned in the seed. The interplay of upward and downward movements across the rows reflects the rise vs fall concept, creating a perpetual contrast that seeks balance yet never quite settles.
