Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a dynamic struggle between 'emptiness' and 'desire'. The palette features warm tones to represent desire ('hot coral', 'blood orange') contrasted with cooler shades to evoke a sense of emptiness ('charcoal', 'hollow blue'). The diagonal layout emphasizes the divide, with the left side predominantly warm and vibrant while the right side is cooler and quieter. This arrangement captures the saturation of yearning colliding with a sense of restraint, creating a visual tension that draws the viewer into its depths. Broken pixels disrupt the flow, symbolizing the jagged edges of longing and absence, while maintaining a significant area of negative space to reflect that emotional void.
