Artist Statement
The emotional tone swings between relief and dread, with muted grey and dark accents symbolizing dread, while soft mint, pale gold, and sky colors signify relief, creating a stark contrast. The central contrast occurs in the focal area where dark colors abruptly give way to lighter tones, mimicking a tension that resolves into release. The interplay of broken pixels introduces imperfection, echoing the themes of ancient fire and entropy as well as creating a dynamic rhythm in the composition. The layout of a hollow center surrounded by color contrast brings forth a visual narrative of pressure and release, suggesting both order within chaos and the coexistence of two opposing emotions.
