Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a dynamic struggle between defiance and submission, symbolized by the contrasting pattern of sharp transitions and gentle fades. The palette, mixing deep blacks, whites, and pale blues, illustrates the gravity of conflict alongside a calming presence, where the lower half embraces submission’s duller tones, while the upper half erupts with defiance. The main contrast occurs through the collision of clustering black tones against expansive whites, mirroring the push and pull between the defined edges and the openness they encase. This abstract pattern emerges from the seed by crafting a sense of dialogue, where weight and lightness interact, and the 'crack' shape seed suggests imperfection within a structured composition.
