Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this piece reflects the tension between feeling safe and feeling exposed, manifested through the color choices of soft greens and warm browns, contrasted by cold whites and pale skin tones. The dominance of the pale skin color in the center evokes vulnerability, while the surrounding darker shades create a soft barrier of safety. The collision occurs primarily in the central region, where the warmth of the brown shades meets the cool tones, suggesting a feeling of instability and protection simultaneously. This split vertical arrangement enhances the sense of pressure against release, echoing the theme of safety versus exposure.
