Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional tension between loneliness and connection. The chosen color palette of deep blacks, dark violets, soft golds, and pale greens invokes feelings of both isolation and hope. The center, filled with dense colors, represents a burst of emotional energy under pressure, while the edges fade into lighter hues, creating a sense of hidden vulnerability. The contrast emerges from the thick cluster in the center (which implies connection) against the sparse placement of lighter tones that suggest loneliness. The repetition of the maze pattern around disconnected dots creates a visual echo of isolation, while the mirroring layout implies the desire to reconnect. Overall, the piece reflects an ongoing struggle between hidden depths and the aspiration for connection, with negative space enhancing the feeling of absence.
