Artist Statement

This artwork interprets the emotional dichotomy of softness versus severity through a juxtaposition of calm and disruptive patterns. The palette, featuring powder pink and carbon black, emphasizes this contrast; pink represents softness and warmth, while black signifies severity and coldness. The dominant pattern of split screen at the bottom transitions to a fragmented crosshatch at the top, symbolizing tension building against a rising signal. The broken pixels create intentional disruptions that evoke feelings of guilt and forgiveness, suggesting a gradual, unresolved emotional journey. The main collision of colors occurs centrally, where the black sharply interrupts the pink, signifying conflict amidst an overall hopeful ascent.
